MoneyLion x Play Like a Girl
Brief: While working at MoneyLion, I was responsible for partnering with Play Like a Girl to bring awareness to girls and young women in the STEM+ field. Play Like a Girl is a “501(c)3 charitable organization on a mission to level the playing field by leveraging the skills girls gain from sport to propel young women into competitive, male-dominated careers in STEM+.”
Outcome: Over the course of the partnership, I was tasked with maintaining the relationship, creating community programming with young girls, educating the parents of Play Like a Girl on various MoneyLion products, account acquisition, and much more.
Services: Branding, Partnerships, Social Media, and Community Impact
Examples of Work
Community Impact & Programming
Partnered with Play Like a Girl, 23XI, and NASCAR to bring 20 esteemed girls from the Dallas area to join MoneyLion for Field Day. The young girls had a Q&A session with 23XI driver, Bubba Wallace, along with having a dynamic panel with women of color in the motorsports industry.
Hosted a 4-week virtual program for Play Like a Girl participants as they competed for $1,000 scholarships to create their finance-focused business dedicated to help young girls, like themselves, become financially literate. Additionally, each participant who completed the STEM+ program received an iPad Mini and pencil. Read more about the STEM+ Challenge here.
During the Indy 500: Race for Equality and Change Qualifying Weekend, MoneyLion partnered with Paretta Autosport, No. 16 Simona De Silvestro, Play Like a Girl, IndyCar, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway to bring 50 young girls and their parents for a fun day at the track.
The day started with a lighting Q&A panel hosted by MoneyLion's Anscia Brown that featured Beth Paretta (Team Principal of Paretta Autosport), Lisa Boggs (Director of Motorsports for Bridgestones Americas), SJ Leudtke (Vice President of Marketing for IndyCar), and Amiah Mimms (Creative Designer for Indianapolis Motor Speedway) with a surprise guest, Simona De Silvestro!
After the panel, the girls took a tour of the track and visited the Paretta Autosport Garage to see the car before Qualifying Weekend, the Firestone Garage, and the Media Center to see all of the vast STEM+ opportunities available in the motorsports industry.
Finally, the girls (and their parents) heard from Penske Entertainment's Chief Diversity Officer, Jimmie McMillian, and ended the day with watching Day 1 of Qualifying Weekend at the Indy 500.
